What is NMSPA?

The New Mexico Society of Public Accountants was organized in 1946 to develop and improve accounting education and to maintain honorable and cordial relations between the accounting profession and the general public.   The NMSPA has Districts throughout the New Mexico area that is instrumental in providing education for the licensed as well as un-licensed accountant.

NMSPA is a professional organization of accountants who provide auditing, accounting, tax preparation, financial and estate planning and management services to thousands of individuals and business clients.  Most members are sole practitioners or partners in small to mid-size accounting firms.

NMSPA accepts accountants from all areas of accounting including industry, governmental, academia and the private sector.  NMSPA promotes quality accounting skills throughout the accounting profession.  The New Mexico Society of Accountants encourages accountants to become accredited with the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation.  The Accreditation Council promotes uniformity and competency in the accounting profession across the nation.   Contact Stephanie Avilla at 1 (800) 966-6679 Ext 1338.
